Rhodes-Lindos, Greece

Lindos, Lunch and the Beach

(John) Our final full day in Greece was the best. After a hearty breakfast of cereal we headed to the bus stop to catch the next bus to Ialysos. We found the bus waiting, got in line for the ticket, bought it, and then the bus left just as we were picking up the change. We were not worried as there would be another one along in a few minutes. Wrong. The next bus was not for 40 minutes. This would make us very late for our rendezvous with my brother Peter and his wife Angie, who were taking us to Lindos in a rental car. So Lesley took on the bus kiosk lady and demanded our money back, but all we got was a change in the ticket so that we could we use it for the return journey, Then we went and got a cab. Which we should have done in the first place. Oh well! As Mhari said, “sometimes the best days start in the worst ways”. She was right. We had a fantastic day with Peter and Angie. We walked around Lindos, ate a picnic lunch with superb views and after swimming in the Aegean Sea and sitting on the sand chatting for a couple of hours we ended up in a cafe by the port in Rhodes Town. It was great meeting up with Peter and Angie. It has made us realize how much we are all missing family and friends.

Here we are together for a cup of tea in our room in Rhodes

After we upload the photos of our day out perhaps we will add a few of us at the beach.
